It all started in 1989, shortly before India embarked on its epic journey of economic reforms. Modernization gradually became a relevant concept and the Indian industry accepted the challenging transition from the comforts of a protected economy to stand up against global competition.
Time was ripe for the then parent organization GEA Westfalia Separator Group, world leaders in separation technology, to consolidate their presence in the South Asian subcontinent.
On 26th September 1989 Westfalia Separator India Pvt. Ltd., a company dedicated to propogate the sale of GEA Westfalia Separator Group equipment and provide adequate customer support services was started. Earlier the activities of GEA Westfalia Separator Group had been looked after by agency organizations.
It has been a humble journey – invigorating, exciting and enriching. As the Indian industry and the Indian economy moved ahead with giant strides, GEA Westfalia Separator Group and their subsidiary organizations stepped in with innovative technologies, equipment and processes.
From separators and decanters for instant coffee and instant tea production to bacterial clarification of milk. From fully automated process lines for edible oil refining and extraction section for Penicillin G to the processing units for Casein and Lactose. From separators for the indigenous production of the much needed Hepatitis vaccine and the extraction decanters for spice pigment isolation to the unique concept of centrifuges for Naptha purification. From Bilge Separators that protect our precious environment to centrifuges for Algae processing for alternate energy sources – GEA Westfalia Separator Group has been a constructive partner in the rapid growth of the Indian economy.
To remain globally competitive, the industries in our part of the world must have access to technologies and equipment that are proven to be the best in the world. They should also have the highest “Life Cycle Benefit” as investments in emerging South Asian economies are made under severe financial constraints.
Solutions with outdated technologies or concepts that have been already discarded by the developed and industrialized world, irrespective of them being economically attractive cannot be considered as instruments of this economic growth.
Every region has its specific requirements. High levels of training and skills are called for to transform technologies developed through the best possible resources in the global arena into solutions for localized needs. GEA Westfalia Separator India Pvt. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of GEA Westfalia Separator Group, is exclusively responsible for all the activities of GEA Westfalia Separator Group and all their subsidiary organizations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Srilanka and Bhutan. Continuous up-gradation of knowledge base through periodic training programmes and a “hands on” awareness of the ground realities of this region have been the pillars of the success of GEA Westfalia Separator India Pvt. Ltd.
